Oroblanco Trees for Sale

Citrus made easy for growers, nurseries, and distributors

The Oroblanco tree is a unique and highly sought-after citrus variety available at TreeSource Citrus Nursery. A hybrid of pummelo and white grapefruit, the citrus Oroblanco tree produces fruit that is sweet, juicy, and virtually seedless, with a mild flavor that lacks the typical bitterness of traditional grapefruit. Its thick greenish-yellow rind peels easily, revealing pale, aromatic flesh that’s ideal for fresh eating or juicing.

Home gardeners and commercial growers alike appreciate the Oroblanco tree for its reliable performance and exceptional fruit quality. The tree blooms with fragrant white flowers and produces round to slightly flattened fruit from late fall through winter. Known for its lower acidity and sweeter taste, it’s a favorite among those who typically find grapefruit too tart.

How Our Citrus Oroblanco Trees Are Different

When purchasing Gillette navel orange trees from TreeSource, growers receive clean-propagated, true-to-type material from verified budwood sources. We emphasize uniformity, strong root development, and early structure so trees establish quickly and grow evenly. Shipping is handled in heavy-duty palletized triwall containers designed to secure pots and protect canopies, ensuring trees arrive healthy, stable, and ready to plant.

For orchardists and collectors seeking a classic California navel with heirloom pedigree, the Gillette orange offers a balanced, true-navel eating experience and a reliable mid-season harvest window. Whether planted in commercial rows, boutique groves, or heritage blocks, Gillette connects growers to the foundational era of California citrus — supported today by TreeSource’s clean stock program and professional handling to ensure healthy establishment and long-term success.

Oroblanco Tree FAQs

How do Oroblanco trees stand up to the cold compared to other grapefruit varieties?

Oroblancos are half pummelo, so are more frost sensitive than standard grapefruit, although not significantly. Compared to a Star Ruby, for example, Oroblancos would be about 2-3 degrees more frost sensitive.

Do you sell dwarf Oroblanco grapefruit trees? If so, what can you tell me about their care?

TreeSource does sell semi-dwarf Oroblancos on C-35 or Rich 16-6 trifoliate rootstock. However, the best way to dwarf your Oroblanco is to place it in a large pot that is about the same size as a ½ wine barrel. This will allow you to move it when there is a threat of frost and still provide an abundant supply of wonderful fruit.

How large do Oroblanco trees typically get?

Commercial Oroblanco orchards mechanically top their trees at about 10 feet tall. Although not any larger than most standard orange trees, we suggest placing in a large pot to keep the tree from getting too large.

When can I expect my trees to start bearing fruit?

It will take about three years to have a good crop on an Oroblanco. Even if fruit set is achieved when the tree is younger, we advise dropping the fruit and allowing the tree to establish. Fruit set on a young tree inhibits vegetative development, which is what you want in the first two years.

Can I create a custom order of other types of citrus and Oroblanco trees?

Yes. Our Availability List regularly shows trees of various types that are ready for purchase. It is possible to buy off that list, but order minimums do apply. We suggest you use Fast Growing Trees if you are a retail consumer unable to meet TreeSource’s order minimums.
