How Our Australian Finger Lime Citrus Trees Are Different

When purchasing Gillette navel orange trees from TreeSource, growers receive clean-propagated, true-to-type material from verified budwood sources. We emphasize uniformity, strong root development, and early structure so trees establish quickly and grow evenly. Shipping is handled in heavy-duty palletized triwall containers designed to secure pots and protect canopies, ensuring trees arrive healthy, stable, and ready to plant.

For orchardists and collectors seeking a classic California navel with heirloom pedigree, the Gillette orange offers a balanced, true-navel eating experience and a reliable mid-season harvest window. Whether planted in commercial rows, boutique groves, or heritage blocks, Gillette connects growers to the foundational era of California citrus — supported today by TreeSource’s clean stock program and professional handling to ensure healthy establishment and long-term success.

Australian Finger Lime Citrus Trees FAQs

We want to buy finger lime trees for our retail business but have never carried them before. Will you be able to support us with care instructions?

We at TreeSource Citrus Nursery would be thrilled to help you with care instructions for your Australian finger lime trees! These unique and delightful trees can be a fantastic addition to your retail business. Here are some key points to ensure your finger lime trees thrive:

  • Planting and Soil: Ensure your finger lime tree is planted in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH level (around 5.5 to 6.5). This helps the tree absorb nutrients effectively.

  • Sunlight: The finger lime tree thrives in full sunlight, requiring at least 8-12 hours of direct sunlight daily. This is crucial for healthy growth and fruit production.

  • Watering: Regular watering is essential, especially during the growing season. Water deeply, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings to prevent root rot.

  • Fertilization: Use a balanced fertilizer, such as an 8-8-8 formula, twice during the growing season to promote healthy growth and fruiting.

  • Pruning: Prune your finger lime tree to maintain shape, remove dead or diseased branches, and improve air circulation. This helps prevent pest and disease issues.

Following these care guidelines will ensure that your finger lime trees flourish and produce delightful finger limes. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact Daniel Cervantes or the rest of our sales team. They can help you further!

Will the finger lime trees we buy come with fruit already? What stage will they be at?

Our Australian finger limes at TreeSource Citrus Nursery will not come with fruit. The stage they will arrive at depends on the product purchased:

  • Citrus Liner: Sized to be grown out by you at your nursery and transplanted into a container upon arrival.

  • Small Pot: Intended to be shifted into a 3-gallon and up container.

  • Large Pot: Could be ground planted upon arrival or shifted to a larger pot.

  • Box Ready Trees: These are 4-year-old grown trees that are ready to be transplanted and will fill in a 24” or 36” box rapidly.

We see your finger lime trees come as a ‘citrus liner’ - what does this mean?

At TreeSource Citrus Nursery, our finger lime trees can be purchased as Citrus Liner trees. These innovative products are perfect for wholesale nurserymen looking to add citrus to their product line. The most challenging part of producing citrus is raising a rootstock seedling ready for grafting and then grafting/budding the liner.

Citrus Liners are grown in a 1.2” x 8” cone to promote healthy root growth in a pest and disease-free environment. They are grown in a soil-free media in accordance with most phytosanitary regulations for international shipping. Once received, the liner is ready to be transplanted into any desired container size. The 7-inch rootball can also be trimmed back moderately to fit in a shorter pot if needed.

At TreeSource, we have been shipping our Citrus Liners around the world since 2004. To ensure you receive a quality tree, we remove all cones before shipment, bundle the liners in groups of 10 for stability, and wrap them in plastic to keep the root balls moist. We can fit up to 120 liners in one carton, each lined with ethylene-absorbing bags to keep the liners happy. Due to USDA regulations, boxes must be sealed completely, so no air holes are allowed. We can ship during winter months with insulation and 2- or 3-day air service if needed. If you cannot transplant the liners immediately, we can ship them in cones, but this will incur the cost of the cones and reduce the quantity per box to 110.

Why would we consider Australian Finger Lime Trees over other varieties?

Choosing Australian finger lime trees over other varieties offers several unique benefits:

  • Unique Fruit: The finger lime tree produces fruit with a distinctive caviar-like pulp, which bursts with a refreshing citrus flavor. This makes it highly sought after in the culinary world for garnishing seafood, desserts, and beverages.

  • Genetic Diversity: Finger lime trees are genetically diverse, offering a variety of fruit shapes, sizes, and colors, including green and red. This diversity can add an attractive range of options for your customers.

  • Versatility and Resilience: Finger lime trees can be grown in various climates and soil types, demonstrating their adaptability and resilience. This makes them a reliable choice for different growing conditions.

Are the finger lime trees grafted, or are they grown from seed?

Our finger lime trees are grafted rather than grown from seed. The Citrus Liners we provide are specifically designed to simplify the grafting process for nurserymen. These liners are grown in a 1.2” x 8” cone to promote healthy root growth in a pest and disease-free environment. This method ensures that the rootstock is ready for grafting, making it easier for you to produce high-quality finger lime trees. Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or need further assistance.
