How Our Valencia Orange Trees Are Different

At TreeSource Citrus Nursery, we grow our Valencia orange trees in greenhouses certified by the CDFA and USDA maintaining the highest standards in horticulture. We use only certified budwood and follow strict protocols for cultivation and sanitation to ensure optimal tree health. This commitment results in strong, vigorous trees that are ready to thrive in a variety of settings.

We offer Valencia orange trees in multiple sizes to suit a wide range of customers. Our potted trees are ideal for nurseries and are especially well-suited for those with limited space, as they adapt easily to different environments. Whether you’re a seasoned grower or a home gardener, Valencia orange trees are a rewarding and reliable option..

These trees can grow up to 15–20 feet tall in the right conditions, making them ideal for backyard orchards or garden landscapes. For those with limited space, dwarf Valencia orange trees are an excellent option. These compact versions grow to about 8–10 feet and can even be grown in large containers, allowing for easy mobility and management. Despite their smaller size, dwarf Valencia orange trees still produce full-sized, delicious oranges that are perfect for fresh eating, juicing, or cooking.

Valencia Orange Trees FAQs

What is the best time of year to plant Valencia orange trees in commercial orchards?

When planting outdoors, planting after the threat of frost is always advisable. This is typically late spring to early summer. If planted into a large pot that can be protected from frost, Valencia orange trees can be planted at any time.

Keep in mind that the best way to dwarf Valencia orange trees is to plant them in a large pot about the size of a ½ wine barrel. That will keep the canopy about the size of the root system.

What are the available shipping options for my Valencia orange citrus trees?

TreeSource Citrus Nursery uses UPS Ground for most shipments within the U.S. Keep in mind that California nurseries can’t ship to Florida or Texas, but can ship to all other states and many foreign countries. Contact us for more information.

What is the optimal planting density for Valencia trees in a commercial orchard?

The Valencia orange trees for sale at TreeSource come in various rootstocks, such as Rich 16-6 trifoliate, C-35, or Carrizo. All will require at least 20-feet of spacing across the row and no less than 10 feet down the row. This spacing is called “double density” planting and will require a tree to be removed in 10-12 years to allow the Valencia trees to fully mature.

What kind of certification or testing do the Valencia trees undergo to guarantee their health?

At TreeSource Citrus Nursery, we grow our Valencia orange trees in CDFA– and USDA-certified greenhouses, following the highest standards of horticulture.. We use only certified budwood that is part of California’s Clean Stock Program.

Why should I choose a Valencia orange tree versus some other variety of citrus?

Valencia orange trees for sale at TreeSource represent one of the easiest citrus trees to grow. They fruit prolifically every year, make the best fresh orange juice you can imagine, and are adaptable to almost any climate. Valencia trees can handle desert conditions, coastal conditions, dry climates, or humid ones. They are the most adaptable of any citrus variety and are counter-seasonal to navels and mandarins, so they are the fruit of choice if you desire year-round citrus fruit in your garden or citrus farm.
