Citrus Trees
Citrus Liners : Grafted Starter Trees / Show relative size / Availability /
These trees are an innovative product that allows almost anyone to raise their
own citrus tree. The most difficult part of raising a citrus tree is developing
the rootstock seedling and budding the tree. Our Citrus Liner Trees are grown in a 1.5" diameter x 8.25" long plastic cone. The soil media is soil-free which
meets the phytosanitary importation requirements of most countries outside of
the United States.
Citrus Liners are removed from the cone for shipment. They are bundled in groups of 10 and wrapped with plastic. This stabilizes the plants and helps to hold moisture in the soil medium. The bundles are then packed in a plastic lined box for shipping. Once received, the starter trees can be planted into any container to create the tree
you desire. The 7" long root ball can even be trimmed to accommodate a shorter
container if desired. The product can be used for numerous applications.

A commercial orange grower may want to raise his own trees and is
looking for a quick way to make his own nursery. All he needs to do is plant
the Citrus Liner Trees into a nursery container. With proper
care, he will have his commercial grade tree 8 to 12 months after
transplanting.

A retail nursery that is weary of paying high prices for citrus trees
can buy Citrus Liners and plant them in their own containers. In 1 year or
less, they can have a saleable product with great mark-up potential with only a modest
amount of care and technical expertise required.
-
A wholesale tree supplier that isn't set up for citrus nursery
propagation can buy in a mix of citrus varieties and plant them in a container of their choice. In that way they can
offer citrus in their mix of trees and various sizes. Since the hard part of propagation is
already done, it's just a matter of time until the Citrus Liner Trees have grown
into a saleable size. An annual program can be developed to insure a steady
supply of product is always available and volume discounts can be arranged.
Trees can be shipped in 48"(l) x 40"(w) x 36"(w) bulk shipping containers or in
boxes of approximately 120.
