Registered Budwood
TreeSource is blessed with an extensive citrus variety collection. Many of the trees in the collection are registered with the California Division of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) for use as budwood source trees. These trees are tested for Tristeza virus annually and have also been tested for various other graft transmissible diseases that can be found in California. These "Mother Trees" are sources of "registered" budwood that can be used in a "nursery increase" block. Each tree is tagged with a CDFA number that identifies it.
TreeSource also supplies large quantities of budwood for topworking and for tree propagation. This material is cut from "registered" sources that have been tested for Tristeza virus in the past 12 months. This budwood comes from our nursery trees that are grown in the field or in the greenhouses and is referred to as "nursery increase" budwood.
All budwood is inspected by CDFA certified inspectors and is accompanied by a phytosanitary document for international customers or a citrus moving permit for California customers. Contact us for details on this product. General information not available on the web.
